Take unused kid’s clothes out of circulation – put a bin or basket in your child’s closet, laundry room or central location. As you find clothes that no longer fit or are stained, move them to the bin. This will clear the clothes clutter and simplify your morning routine.
Re-purpose a Shoe Organizer in your Coat Closet – re-purpose a back of the door shoe organizer to hold gloves, hats, scarves, umbrellas and more. Get super organized by assigning and labeling the shoe bins by family member or purpose.
Create a Wrapping Paper Bin – Always be prepared for kid’s birthday parties by storing spare gift bags, wrapping paper, cards and even gifts in a dedicated place.
Add a Shred Box to your Mail Station – I am always looking for ways to deal with all the paper that comes in the mail. This is a work in progress but one thing that works is to review your mail as you receive it. Create a shred box close by and as you go through the mail, toss the shredding in as you go through it.
Up-cycle a Diaper Wipe container to store all your powder sauces, seasoning and dressing packages. You can easily see what you have on hand, saving time and money.
Create holiday craft boxes with old shoe boxes or diaper wipe containers to collect all the holiday specific project craft material. This will save money when that holiday comes again. You likely have left over items that you can use next time by having all the items in 1 place. Be sure to label the box with the holiday on the outside or store in a larger box of decorations so you have it when you pull out your decorations for that holiday.
It never fails that I unexpectedly end up at a store that I know I have a coupon for. By planning ahead, I always have my coupons on hand and I never have to spend more than I have to.
TIP: Use a plastic flat pencil case or envelope to keep your coupons all in one place. Be sure to put it in your purse or stash it in your car so you always have the coupons on hand just in case you need them. If you don’t have them, go to the store’s website or do a quick google search to see if there are any online coupon codes that you can use. I have done this many times and I usually find something I can use.
Next post we’ll talk about how to store your coupons digitally with one of my favorite apps.
